Chapter 9

Part 41. Let the duel begin. It was a bright and sunny Sunday as noon quickly approached. Not Helt’s favourite weather or time of day. The hill behind the amphitheater was mostly empty, a grassy mound with only a few trees. There would be no avoiding the sunlight in today’s duel. Fortunately he was not the kind of vampire who burst into flames. Any exposed skin would suffer a painful sunburn fast and be slow to heal. Sunblock helped avoid the burn, but the light would sap his strength the longer he was out in it. Under a tree sat Professor Marry Alisa Dellumph, who would be the referee for the duel. An older woman, dressed in Victorian style, she had a butler and tea table with her. To her left was Helt and his supporters. To her right was Natilla and her allies. A group of a dozen spectators stood behind her. After the butler whispered in the Prof’s ear, she stood up and said “There time is here. Will the conflicting students step forward?” Helt and Nat...

Part 34. Lets have Lunch. “This is the women’s dorm, you should not be here.” Serena said in a quiet tone as the tall German sat down at the table. It was Saturday, lunchtime. None of the other women in the dining area seemed to pay any attention to the intruder. “How was last night?” Emma asked, noticing that Helt was still in the same set of clothes. “We can talk outside, if you like.” He suggested. Having just sat down to eat, neither woman wanted to abandon the table just yet. “Did something important happen last night?” the small Filipino asked. “There was some trouble. Id like your help to, ah, clear up a mystery.” He explained in a rather indirect way. Serena looked at her roommate, Emma clearly knew a bit more about what was going on than she did. “Fine, but someone must tell me what actually happened.” “Our boy Helt can really dance.” the American blond said with a huge grin. This information did not help Serena understand what was goin...

Chapter 7.

Part 29. Getting Started. Serena was quiet on the walk back to the dorm. She desperately wanted a shower, or better yet a swim at the beach. Emma was laughing and talking about what just happened. She thought it was a great way to shake up the class. It made her expect the Prof would have more surprises in store for them. Next time she would not be caught off guard. Helt agreed that it was a good training trick. But he did not look forward to surprises like pepper spray or smoke grenades. The first meeting of the improved Relations Club was held that afternoon at 4pm. Because the permit was not yet approved, it was an unofficial meeting held on the Common Green. Along with Helt, Serena and Emma were Erik and Yue. The small Filipino said Hello to everyone then got down to business, “We should have the permit this week and get a room to use. Ut even if permission is not granted we can still go forward, meeting regularly to discus issues of relations be...
